Rare Video Of Slash's Snakepit Tracking In The Studio, July 1999.

September 18, 2014

From 1998 to 2001 I was the drummer for Slash’s Snakepit.   In 1999 the band recorded the album “Aint Life Grand” at Ocean Way Studios in Hollywood CA with legendary record producer Jack Douglas (Aerosmith, John Lennon).  The studio line up of the band was:

Slash (guitars) Rod Jackson (vocals) Ryan Roxie (guitars) Johnny Griparic (bass) myself on drums, along with long time Guns N’ Roses engineer, Jim Mitchell.

I bought a camcorder to document our time in the studio and just recently found the tapes!  Nobody has seen this footage (including myself) in 15 years!!!

Check out this raw footage of the band in the studio waaaaaay back in July of 1999 tracking the basics (no vocal) for the song “The Alien”.

Real, Raw, Live, ROCK N’ ROLL!!!!!

(Special thanks to drum tech Garner Knutson for the amazing camera work!)

 More videos to come!
